GB Trophies (Prints) 2017

The GB Trophies for Prints are held each November. Every Club may enter directly, without any pre-qualification. Clubs may enter the Open Trophy, and may also enter the Nature Trophy. Awards are made to the winning Clubs. A number of awards are declared for individual images. A significant selection of prints are placed in albums for display at PAGB events.

Chorley Photographic Society member and former President of the L&CPU Gordon Jenkins became President of the PAGB at its AGM on Saturday 8th of April

‘I am sure that everyone in the L&CPU along with other federations within the PAGB would like to join with me in extending our congratulations and best wishes to Gordon Jenkins ,from the L&CPU ,in his term as the President of the PAGB.’ said Garth Tighe, current President of the L&CPU.

Wigan 10 win PAGB 20th Inter-club Print Championship

pagb_logo_smallToday the PAGB held it’s 20th Inter-club Print Championship in Ormskirk and I am happy to report that all our L&CPU representatives performed well with Wigan 10 Foto Club finishing worthy winners just ahead of Dumfries. Robert Millin from Wigan 10 said “We are very pleased to have represented the L&CPU bringing home the trophy and adding it to the PAGB PDI Inter-club trophy that we won in July. It is a stunning achievement to hold both of the PAGB’s major club trophies at the same time and we are proud of that fact for both our club and our federation.”

PAGB Annual Inter Club PDI Championship

The PAGB held its Annual Inter Club PDI Championship at The University of Warwick on Saturday 16th July. Wigan 10 took first place with Chorley PS in 3rd place. Congratulations and well done to them both. It was an excellent day providing the opportunity to see many stunning images for an audience of some 350 people.

Wigan 10 member Rob Millin said, “Great event with so many fantastic images on display and the L&CPU again shining through……….. !! The PAGB sure know how to run this event and it is with no small thanks to our own Exec members who also work so tirelessly for the PAGB.”

The PAGB has won the 33rd FIAP Mono Print Biennial with a selection of sports images – including several from L&CPU members. As yet, no further details are available, we’ll publish them when we get them. In the meantime, click on the photo to see an enlarged version of the winning entry.

FIAP Results – L&CPU Members Success

FIAPlogoThe PAGB 2016 submission of applications for FIAP Distinctions was the largest by any country in the world, with a total of 110 successful applications. L&CPU club members who were successful are:

  • AFIAP – Darrell Oakden, Alsager CC
  • AFIAP – Sandra Walker, South Lancashire IC

SONY PAGB Inter-Federation Competitions – Results Update
