Wildlife photography from South Africa, Spain, and the UK is the focus of a new exhibition by Chorley Photographic Society member Steve Proctor, MPAGB, at the Hub Gallery in Clitheroe.
Entitled The Wildside – Nature and Wildlife of South Africa, Spain and the UK, the exhibition features 40 wildlife prints showcasing the diversity, character, and beauty of animals and birds in their natural habitats.
Visitors can expect an engaging collection of images capturing wildlife in a variety of settings, from the impressive mammals of South Africa to native birds and wildlife found across Spain and closer to home in the UK. The photographs demonstrate the patience, fieldcraft, and technical control required to capture compelling moments in the natural world.
Steve is an accomplished photographer with a particular interest in nature, alongside creative portraiture and sport. Although he has been taking photographs for many years, he stepped up his involvement around 2010. His distinctions include the Master of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (MPAGB), the highest award for print and projected work within British amateur club photography.
A member of Chorley Photographic Society, Steve also serves on the Executive Committee of the Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU). He regularly delivers presentations, judges competitions at local and national levels, and acts as a mentor to photographers developing their own creative skills.
The exhibition offers an excellent opportunity to appreciate Steve’s wildlife photography in print. All exhibition prints are available to purchase ahead of Christmas, and for just £1 visitors can enter a prize draw for the chance to win a framed and mounted print.
