Each week, many photographers across Lancashire, Cheshire, and South Cumbria visit the L&CPU website and our social channels to see what is happening in the region.
A handful of member clubs do a fantastic job of sharing details about upcoming guest speakers, annual exhibitions, and other events open to the wider photography community. However, around 90% of our clubs are missing out on this free publicity.
While club members will naturally attend their own evenings, many events are open to visitors from across the region—whether in person at your clubroom or online via Zoom. If you are opening your doors or digital meetings to a wider audience, let us help you boost attendance. Every article published on lcpu.org is mirrored directly to the official L&CPU Facebook page, giving your event instant reach across the whole federation.
How to Submit Your Copy
To help get your post published quickly and looking its best on WordPress, please follow these practical tips:
- Send Editable Text: Put your copy directly in the body of an email or attach a clean document (.txt or .docx). Please do not send text locked inside an image file or PDF flyer—search engines cannot easily index these, and extracting text from them creates layout issues.
- Include the Vital Details: Ensure you cover the essentials:
- Club name
- Event title and a brief overview of the presentation or exhibition
- Date and start time
- Meeting format: full physical venue address (with postcode) or details on how visitors can request the Zoom link
- Admission charges or guest fees, if applicable
- Contact email or website link for enquiries and bookings
- Images: Web-sized photographs to illustrate your article are very welcome and help catch the eye on both the website and Facebook.
- Send photos as separate JPEG attachments (please do not embed them inside a Word document).
- Resize them to around 1200 to 1920 pixels on the long edge in sRGB colour space. This ensures pages load fast on mobile devices while remaining sharp on all displays.
- Include a short caption and the photographer’s name for proper credit.
