What’s On: NFPS guest presenter, April 2026

The North Fylde Photographic Society (NFPS) is delighted to be welcoming an award-winning photographer who will be taking us on a journey around the UK coastline to explore the art of seeing the world through the lens of long and extreme long exposure photography:

Date:  Tuesday, 7 April 2026
Presenter:  Phil Durkin DPAGB BPE4
Title of presentation:  A Few Seconds Makes All The Difference

Phil has had a keen interest in photographing seascapes, landscapes and architecture for many years, becoming increasingly selective in his output so that (in his words) he chooses to “release the shutter when all the essential elements line up” and only when the shot is “worth capturing”.  Phil’s seascape presentation ranges from the English North West across to the North East and down to sections of the Channel coast before going up to the west coast of Scotland and crossing the Minch to the Western Isles, with a visit to Europe at the end of the session.  Phil’s presentation will include elements of minimalist photography and feature colour and monochrome images.

Check out Phil’s website at phildurkin.co.uk and then come along to meet the photographer himself.

Venue:  church hall, The Church of St Martin and St Hilda, Carleton (adj. Castle Gardens pub)
Time:  19:30
Entry fee:  £2.00 for members / £3.00 for non-members
