Long Exposure Fine Art Photography with John Miskelly

Frodsham & District Photographic Society invites you to a fascinating online talk from John Miskelly on Monday 11 March at 7.30 pm.

John Miskelly is a professional landscape photographer, living in the beautiful Northern Ireland countryside, but travelling extensively. He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, a Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photography, a Canson Infinity International Ambassador and a LEE Filters Master.

John’s style, which typically involves long exposures of around 8 minutes or more, reflects his vision in terms of both the simplicity and strong compositional elements that he finds around our coastlines. Influenced by the ascetics of Japanese gardens, along with their use of space and form, his resultant minimalist images are often captured in the subdued light at the beginning and end of the day, providing a feeling of softness and subtlety, that demonstrates his unique interpretation of the world around us.

We will visit Venice, France, Norway and many locations in the British Isles and Ireland in John’s presentation, with stories of how the images were captured and details of his post-processing techniques.
