We cordially invite you and your club to take part in the L&CPU 5th Novice Cup Event which is taking place on Sunday 10th October 2021 at the Elmbank Conference Centre, Half Edge Lane, Eccles, M30 9BA commencing at 10.00am. 2012(Doors open from 9.30am).
This event is designed to promote competitions and distinctions to club members who might not normally get involved in the Union’s annual competitions. Everyone is welcome to attend this event, but only club members who currently do not have any photographic qualifications or accreditations are eligible to enter the competition via their club Competition Secretary.
It is hoped that authors will attend to support their club entry and be inspired by the talks to be given by L&CPU members who have recently been through the L&CPU or PAGB mentoring service to help them achieve their CPAGB or DPAGB awards.
The Novice Cup is an un-mounted ‘A4’ print competition and is in two sections; Open Colour and Open Monochrome. The club entry into each section is just 6 images, each by a different author Images must not have been used in any previous L&CPU competition or received an award in any National or International competition. Refer to the attached Rules for further information.
Entry opens on the L&CPU Portal on the 29th August 2021 and closes on the 3rd October 2021.
Competition Secretaries are asked to upload a digital version of each print which will be used during the awards presentation.
Our Judges this year are: Tillman Kleinhans ARPS, DPAGB, EFIAP/b, BPE3*,
Colin Douglas ARPS, DPAGB, AFIAP, BPE4* and Julia Douglas.
During the closed judging sessions there will be a number of lectures to be given by L&CPU club members who have recently attained CPAGB or DPAGB awards. They will talk about their images and how the L&CPU mentoring scheme helped them to achieve their success.
There will also be a talk by David Butler on the extremely successful L&CPU Mentoring Service.
Tickets, priced at £10, will include a buffet lunch plus tea and coffee in the breaks and be available for purchase in September through the L&CPU Online Portal.
