Knutsford Photographic Society launch its annual exhibition – “Meet the Photographers”

Knutsford Photographic Society are gearing up to launch their second major exhibition. Last year’s event attracted over four hundred visitors and the hope this year is more of the same. With a change of venue and access to digital projection the club will be exhibiting 56 mounted prints and over 50 digital images from their winning portfolios.

Fourteen of the clubs’ photographers will have their work on show and this year the theme is entitled “Meet the Photographers”. John Horsley, club president, said, this year we are taking a different approach and trying to convey the personality of each photographer along with their images. We are also including a short biography and showcasing publications where their talents have been recognised externally.

After a very successful year both from a club and individual perspective the exhibition aims to enlighten visitors with some stunning images and ideally attract more new members. Unlike many clubs KPS is especially keen to hear from more people who prefer to use mobile phones as cameras. Mobile phone photography has seen a big increase in club events recently. To reflect its popularity the club has launched a new logo embedding the true value of photography for all.

After the success of last year, visitors will again be asked to participate in a draw for their favourite image with the winner offered a professionally printed copy.

The exhibition will be held at the Knutsford Heritage Centre, at 90A King St, Knutsford WA16 6ED. The centre is open to the public from Thursday 1st August until Saturday 28th September (the exhibition only opens on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11am – 4pm).
