FIAP Results – L&CPU Members Success

FIAPlogoThe PAGB 2016 submission of applications for FIAP Distinctions was the largest by any country in the world, with a total of 110 successful applications. L&CPU club members who were successful are:

  • EFIAP – Ian Whiston, Crewe PS
  • AFIAP – Mike Gibbens, Bebington PS
  • AFIAP – Darrell Oakden, Alsager CC
  • AFIAP – Sandra Walker, South Lancashire IC
  • EFIAP/g – Robert Millin, Wigan 10 FC
  • EFIAP/s – Geoff Smith, Poulton-le-Fylde

The L&CPU congratulates the above on their success.

SONY PAGB Inter-Federation Competitions – Results Update

pagb_logo_smallWe now have the full results of the SONY PAGB Inter-Federation Competitions. As well as scoring two joint-firsts, a second and a joint third in the competitions, the following L&CPU club members gained awards:

PAGB Ribbon – Open PDI – Phil Barber of Wigan 10 Foto Club with ‘King of the Gypsys’, and Christine Widdall MPAGB FBPE of Oldham PS with ‘Michael’

Open Mono Print: Ross McKelvey’s Silver Medal goes to Phil Barber of Wigan 10 Foto Club, for ‘Ironman’

PAGB Ribbon – Nature PDI – Ian Whiston DPAGB of Crewe PS, for Cheetah watching over cubs’.

Roll of Honour award for Howard Gregory

HG Roll of HonourJohn Smith – Past President of the L&C – presenting the Roll of Honour award for Howard Gregory to Suzanne Gregory.

Howard’s name was added to the L&CPU Roll of Honour at the AGM in February for services to L&CPU clubs in giving talks and demonstrations on all things Audio – Visual and also for being one of the founder members and running the Wilmslow Guild Audio Visual Group for the past 23 years.

Poulton-le-Fylde celebrate their Golden Anniversary

Poulton-le-Fylde Photographic Society was formed 50 years ago after the town’s Festival Committee ran a photographic competition. They have just celebrated their Golden Anniversary with a dinner at Singleton Lodge. Guest speaker at the occasion was Roger Goodwill, a Life Member of the Society and previous head of the Photographic Department of Blackpool and the Fylde College. He is shown (left) in the photo with his wife Ann and Chairman Phil Hodson DPAGB EFIAP BPE1*.

Please note that clubs declining the print folios will NOT receive a disc containing a copy of the prints, but they will receive a copy of the PDIs on a disc. Bill Edwards Folio Secretary.
