Incorporating the Bob Robinson Trophy
You’ve had the tasters, heard the news, well, here’s the details!
We’ve had Big Days before but this one is different – BRING YOUR CAMERA!
Date: 9th October 2022
Time: 10 am to 4pm (approx.)
Venue: Leigh Spinners Mill, Park Lane, Leigh WN7 2LB
The day starts officially at 10am, with a welcome and keynote speaker.
In the new exhibition area in the mill will be the current Masters of Print exhibition. Sixty of the best photographs from club photographers. There will also be print panels from recent APM successes to view.
There will be three models, one based in the engine hall, one in a 1940’s parlour and one hopefully based on a brutalist, metal stairway. Each will have a variety of costumes to wear.
Permajet will be present and will be giving workshops matching paper surface to photograph. There may also be a print your best picture of the day (TBC).
Our very own north west based Wilkinson Cameras will also be running workshops and demonstrating some of their pro master range of kit.
The Bob Robinson Trophy will be running during the day, with hand in from 9:30 onwards and as usual, the prints will be on display after each judging session. Awards will be presented during the closing session. (Look out for further details specific to the competition.)
There will be two ticket types available. A free ticket for photographers who only want to enter the Bob Robinson Trophy competition, but will allow access around the building to watch. A paid ticket (Target cost £20) which allows access to all the models and workshops during the day. Look out for booking details in Focal Points and the L&CPU website. Tickets will be limited.
A booking system will be in place to allow paid photographers to book their time slots with the models and workshops.
There is also plenty to photograph around the outside of the grade ll listed building as well as access to the engine hall etc. when the models are resting.
The mill has a very good café at reasonable prices or you may wish to bring your own lunch.
More details to follow as the workshops are firmed up.
I look forward to seeing you at what is shaping up to be a Big Day!
