Frodsham & District PS: Painting With A Camera – Valda Bailey FRPS

Valda Bailey FRPS has largely given up camera club presentations due to pressure of work but the facility to give presentations from home means she has now started to do a few, so we feel very honoured that she has agreed to talk to our members in Frodsham.

We are delighted to invite members from other clubs to join us on Monday 15 February to hear Valda on ‘The Appeal of Photographic Impressionism’.

Valda has a background in painting and uses various techniques to blur detail and abstract shapes in the landscape. Her work straddles different genres and disciplines. Summing up her work in one line does not do her justice.

Her talk is about furthering one’s imagination when making images; the very real rewards that can come from letting go of the constraints of conventional photography and allowing ourselves to be led by ideas and instinct. Not only with regard to subject matter but with colour, composition, focus, exposure and all the other doctrines that are held to be sacrosanct.

Tickets price £5 are available from https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/let-us-play-the-appeal-of-photographic-impressionism-by-valda-bailey-frps-tickets-127468454579
