Special interest groups have enabled Knutsford Photographic Society
members to develop self-belief and challenge new boundaries.
Knutsford Photographic Society are gearing up to launch its fourth major summer
exhibition. Last year’s event attracted strong interest ranging from keen photographers to
inquisitive members of the general public. Feedback is always welcome and has been the
catalyst to exhibit again this year. The exhibition will again be held in the Knutsford Heritage Centre, which has generous space and excellent lighting to support the images on display.
With access to digital projection, the club will be exhibiting 50 mounted prints and over 40 digital images from their stunning portfolios.
The Society continues to promote its genre-specific group structure, which enables
inexperienced members to be mentored by genre specialists. Members also participate in
regular trips to challenging photographic venues across Cheshire and beyond. Venues are
all carefully chosen to test and enhance photographic skills.
Club President, Janet Robinson, is clearly in favour of the genre-specific approach and
mentioned how strong the Society has become in contesting internal and external
competitions. Several members have achieved national/international recognition for their
work or are in the process of developing their portfolios. Janet is keen to stress how the
whole club is benefiting as members are very keen to explore different types of photography with mentoring as the underpinning success factor.
The exhibition aims to enlighten visitors with some stunning images and ideally attract more new members. Visitors will also be able to see a select range of images captured at local events throughout the year.
The exhibition will be held at the Knutsford Heritage Centre, at 90A King St, Knutsford WA16
6ED. The centre is open to the public from Thursday, 30 th April until Saturday, 30 th May. To view the exhibition, please come along on either a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, 11 am – 4 pm.
