Frodsham & District Photographic Society invites you to a fascinating online talk from British Life Photographer of the Year winner Amy Bateman on Monday 12th February at 7.30 pm.
Amy is a professional photographer and Cumbrian farmer living on a cattle and sheep farm near Kendal.
In March 2021, Amy embarked on a journey to record the stories of Forty Farms in the Lake District and Cumbria. From the Herdwick-grazed Lake District commons to the big-sky Solway marshes; from isolated farmsteads unchanged in generations to businesses at the cutting-edge of innovation; from world-class sheep breeders to award-winning cheese-makers, Forty Farms is a visual record of farming at a period of profound change.
With anecdotes from the project, insights into how farmers are managing in an increasingly difficult economic climate and the highs and lows of Lakeland farm life, Amy will also talk about how she captured some of her iconic farming shots.
