It is with deep regret we report that Bob Robinson – President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union – died peacefully on the morning of Friday 22nd of May.

It is with great sadness and regret that I must inform L&CPU Club members that Bob passed away peacefully this morning at St Anne’s Hospice, Little Hulton.
Inaugurated as President earlier this year, Bob had little chance to enjoy the position and was looking forward to visiting clubs around the region. He will probably be best known to many members as the face of L&CPU competitions and ran them competently and efficiently without fuss. The fact that there was always a good coterie of executive members and others willing to help, illustrating the high esteem he was held in.
Bob was also awarded Hon. L&CPU in March in recognition of his work within the photographic community over many years and was both delighted and slightly embarrassed that people had such affection for him.
Bob was a conspicuous and encouraging member of the executive and always saw the positive in discussions. He arranged many meetings in Eccles and was always ably assisted by his wife, Sue.
Bob was also a committed member of Warrington Photographic Society and I can do no better that reiterate the words of Eileen Jones, President of his club:
“We have lost a loyal and dedicated man in the photographic community and he will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him”.James Hardy

Our thoughts at this time are with his wife, Sue. We send our condolences to her and his family.
