
Martin Avery was a Liverpool photographer who made creative images in the early
days of Photoshop when the average club photographer thought that Photoshop was
The Work of the Devil.
This competition, held annually in his memory, showcases the best of contemporary
creative photography.
This year’s challenge between five of the region’s clubs was hosted by Poulton
Photographic Society with Southport PS, Chorley PS, South Liverpool PS and The
Evolve Group also taking part.
Each club entered 10 prints, so the audience was treated to fifty creative prints
judged by Richard Speirs DPAGB HON PAGB HON NCPF BPE2*
In a tightly fought contest, the winning club was Chorley PS
Poulton PS was just one point behind, and just six points separated the top four
