Frodsham & District Photographic Society invites you to join them on Monday 3 November at 7.30pm in Frodsham Community Centre for an evening exploring the quiet power of minimalist photography with Scottish photographer Martin Annand.
Celebrated for his award‑winning long‑exposure landscapes and refined visual style, Martin captures stillness, space, and emotional depth through simplicity. His path into minimalism began not with abundance but with constraint: limited time to shoot pushed him to strip away distractions and focus instead on clean lines, negative space, and subtle tonal palettes.

In this in-person talk at Frodsham Community Centre, Martin will share how he developed his distinctive aesthetic, the technical choices behind his images, and the philosophy that guides his creative process. From coastal scenes to urban moments, he’ll reveal how minimalism became not just a style, but a way of seeing.
Whether your interest lies in slow photography, visual storytelling, or the discipline of reduction, this evening offers the chance to gain fresh insight and inspiration.
Martin will be bringing some of his beautiful prints so we can view close up his long exposures that transform coastal scenes into meditative artworks.
Frodsham is located between Chester and Warrington just off the M56 – Junction 12 for those travelling from the north and Junction 14 for those coming from the west. We meet on the ground floor of Frodsham Community Centre, Fluin Lane, Frodsham, WA6 7QN. The building is fully accessible and there is a large car park.

Tickets for the talk cost £5 and are available online from Frodsham.eventbrite.co.uk. Doors open at 7:15pm. There will be an interval with tea and biscuits available.
