Knutsford Photographic Society are gearing up to launch their third major summer exhibition. Last year’s event attracted nearly four hundred visitors and the hope this year is more of the same. The exhibition will again be held in the Knutsford Heritage Centre which has generous space and excellent lighting to support the images on display.
With access to digital projection, the club will be exhibiting 60 mounted prints and over 50 digital images from their winning portfolios.
Sixteen photographers from the club will have their work on show and this year the theme is entitled “Getting to know Knutsford Photographic Society”. John Horsley, club president, said, this year we are taking the opportunity to explain about the club, its history, its structure, how we operate, our reliance on genre-specific subgroups and our emphasis on mentoring. We have had a very successful competition season both at club and individual levels This has enabled us to showcase the achievements of members who have received awards in exhibitions and salons, both nationally and internationally.
The exhibition aims to enlighten visitors with some stunning images and ideally attract more new members. With our sub-group structure, we are able to offer an incredible variety of expertise across most photographic genres. Whilst the club is the collective force behind our success the option to follow a specific type of photography is limitless.
After the success of last year, visitors will again be asked to participate in a draw for their favourite image with the winner offered a professionally printed copy.
The exhibition will be held at the Knutsford Heritage Centre, at 90A King St, Knutsford WA16 6ED. The centre is open to the public from Thursday 7th August until Saturday 20th September (the exhibition only opens on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11am – 4pm).
