Big Day of Photography – Update

October 9th Leigh Spinners Mill 10am to 4pm

A quick reminder that tickets are still available, but in limited supply! Information with regard to booking is on the L&CPU website. Access all areas tickets are £15, £0 if you are simply entering the Bob Robinson Trophy competition (but you still need to register!).

There are various models and locations, lectures from Permajet, a beginners’ workshop on the use of lighting (with another model) from Wilkinson’s Cameras.

Masters of Print

The Masters of Print exhibition is on display, a chance to see 60 of the best amateur photography in the UK as well as two recent CPAGB and two DPAGB panels. There are on display in the mill’s new exhibition area on the fourth floor.

The day starts with a welcome and an entertaining keynote speaker before breaking up into groups to photograph the models. Permajet and Wilkinson’s will run their lectures and workshops throughout the day. The mill café is open and serves excellent drinks, snacks and hot food. There is also a small coffee and tea bar on the second floor.

The Bob Robinson Trophy competition is on and prints will need to be delivered to the Community Room on floor 2 between 9:30 and 10am. The mono and colour sections are judged independently, with time in the day for everyone to view the prints and awards. I have talked to a number of clubs who intend entering, but there are only a few days left as it closes on Friday 7th October. Details are on the L&CPU website.

There are some super prizes for the winners of the competition, courtesy of both Wilkinson’s Cameras and Permajet. Additional prizes too, at the close of the day.

Signage will be everywhere so we do not lose anyone!
