Frodsham & District Photographic Society invites you to join award-winning René Krekels on Zoom for a macro & high-speed journey into insect life, revealing beauty & function in tiny creatures.
René is a biologist-turned-photographer from the Netherlands who reveals the secret lives of insects and other tiny creatures through macro and high-speed imagery. Drawing on his zoological training, he freezes a dragonfly’s wingbeat and even captured an acid-spraying wood ant – an image that won 1st prize in the Close-up Photographer of the Year “Insects” category.

Published in leading nature magazines, René’s award-winning work comes to life in his signature show, “Bedroom Secrets of Small Animals.” With evocative music and insightful commentary, he transports viewers into an intimate world where beauty and function converge.

During this special online event for Frodsham & District Photographic Society, René will pull back the curtain on his process—covering lighting setups, lens choices, timing techniques and the “making of” each frame. Expect a blend of scientific insight, creative vision and practical advice that will inspire you to see and photograph biodiversity in a whole new light.

Tickets for the talk cost £5 and are available online from https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/hidden-secrets-of-small-animals-with-rene-krekels-tickets-1487271231289?
