Former and much missed L&CPU committee member Diana Magor sent us this photo which was taken of some of the award winners in the Hoylake International Exhibition who came to their first showing last week. They were presented with their medals and ribbons by L&CPU President Garth Tighe.

SLPS Annual Exhibition at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral

We are pleased to announce the success of our Annual Exhibition held again at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. The exhibition was opened by Master Landscape Photographer Paul Gallagher. L&CPU President Garth Tighe attended the opening evening along with guests from Photographic Clubs from throughout the North-West.

Roll of Honour award for Howard Gregory

Howard’s name was added to the L&CPU Roll of Honour at the AGM in February for services to L&CPU clubs in giving talks and demonstrations on all things Audio – Visual and also for being one of the founder members and running the Wilmslow Guild Audio Visual Group for the past 23 years.

Poulton-le-Fylde celebrate their Golden Anniversary

Poulton-le-Fylde Photographic Society was formed 50 years ago after the town’s Festival Committee ran a photographic competition. They have just celebrated their Golden Anniversary with a dinner at Singleton Lodge. Guest speaker at the occasion was Roger Goodwill, a Life Member of the Society and previous head of the Photographic Department of Blackpool and the Fylde College. He is shown (left) in the photo with his wife Ann and Chairman Phil Hodson DPAGB EFIAP BPE1*.

North Cheshire Challenges Pdi results Chorley win again, doing the double yet again!! Beating home team North Cheshire by 1 point. But North Cheshire got overall winning image!

Rob Hockney – President of the NCPS – said, “Chorley were worthy winners once again, but were pushed a little harder in PDIs with hosts North Cheshire one point behind in second place and Leek taking third.

Tonight, Chorley PS won the North Cheshire Photographic Society Print Challenge in a battle with sixteen other clubs. Will Stead – President of Chorley – said, “A great night and another amazing win for the members of Chorley PS. Thanks to Jane (Lines – Chorley’s External Competition Secretary) for all her hard work in sorting the entries. Looking forward to tonight and the PDI knockout.” Jane Lines remarked “Don’t hold your breath ………it’s another clubs time to shine!!!”

Wigan 10 win the Maurice Dorikens Trophy

Maurice Dorikins TrophyCongratulations go to Wigan 10 Foto Club, who have won the Maurice Dorikens Trophy in 2015 for being the most consistent club in the last five years in the FIAP World Cup for Clubs. In this period, they have won the World Cup three times.
