This event is designed to promote competitions and distinctions to club members who may not generally get involved in the Federation annual club competition or club knockout competition. Attendance is open to all L&CPU clubs members, regardless of whether the club submits images to compete for the Novice Cup.
Entry to the event must be via the club Competition Secretary using images from club members who currently do not have any photographic qualifications or accreditations. Images cannot have been used in any L&CPU competition or received an award in a national or international competition.
The Novice Cup is an un-mounted ‘A4’ print competition, and is in two sections:
- Open Colour
- Open Monochrome
Online submission via the L&CPU Portal
- Opens – Sunday 29 August 2021
- Closes – Sunday 3 October 2021
- Each club can enter 6 images from 6 different authors in each section
- Authors can enter more than one section
- Awards will be given for the highest scoring club and individual images
Judges & Speakers

A number of lectures will provided by L&CPU club members and mentors who have recently attained CPAGB or DPAGB accreditation’s talking about their panels and how the L&CPU mentoring scheme helped them to improve their photography.
Tickets will be available through the L&CPU Online Portal (date to be confirmed). A buffet along with Tea and Coffee during the breaks will be provided as part of the ticket price (not more than £15).
Further details, along with information of the awards, judges and how to enter will be communicated nearer the time. We would particularly like to encourage smaller clubs to take part, as well as the larger clubs, who perhaps enter regularly.
